Princess Irina to wed in lavish ceremony

The "lavish days of the Russian court will be recalled tomorrow" when Princess Irina Youssoupova marries Count Nicholas Scheremetiev. The couple will be married tomorrow at the Russian Church in Rome. They were married in a civil ceremony on Tuesday, according to the UPI report.

Princess Irina is the niece of the late Czar Nicholas II of Russia, and the daughter of Prince and Princess Youssoupov. The Princess Youssoupov is the former Princess Irina of Russia, only daughter of Grand Duke Alexander and Grand Duchess Xenia of Russia.

Many members of the former Russian nobility have their their exiled homes in Britain and in France to attend the wedding. The bride's grandmother, Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna, sister of the late Czar, is expected to attend.

Princess Irina is 23 years old. She met Count Nicholas five years ago in Paris, where he worked as a taxi driver. After the wedding, they will settle in Rome.
